Energy & Education Days: Rimini's citizens engaged to save energy19 October 2011 | 09h36 | 258 visits ENGAGE days in Rimini (Italy) were organised from the 14th to the 16th of October, during a long week-end of Energy, Education and Sustainability activities. 110 new engagements were gathered during the event! This 3-day event was a combination of local tradition (typical food and crafts), culture (street performers, theatre, exhibitions, and also Saint Gaudenzo’s day, the city’s patron saint) and sustainable energy (energy info point, clean electricity supply and local energy stakeholders). Hundreds of people visited the ENGAGE stand during this 6th edition of Saint’Andre Borough Feast. More than 150 people involved in the ENGAGE campaign resulting in 110 new posters produced! All participants could then place their engagement on the ENGAGE Tree. The City Mayor Andrea Gnassi and the Deputy Mayor for In the ENGAGE campaign, all participants are invited to monitor their consumption in order to evaluate their energy savings. During the ENGAGE days in Rimini, a carbon footprint calculator was presented at the stands and dozens of people subscribed to undertake this monitoring. At the stands were also available experiments and games on energy sources for children and adults managed by educational experts, information provided by municipality experts, energy On Sunday morning, a four-leg Pedibus, led by Flora and Giuditta, a couple of donkeys - in relation to posters already produced in the ENGAGE campaign in Rimini, has accompanied childrens from the hills to the city centre in a 2-hours walk, to promote the 15 pedibus lines for primary schools.
