"Good Energy" in Bielsko-Biała4 June 2012 | 11h13 | 253 visits From the 19th to the 20th of May, the city of Bielsko-Biała organised the second edition of the Beskids Festival of Good Energy promoting energy efficiency, the use of renewables energy sources and rational waste management. The mayor of Bielsko-Biala Jacek Krywult explained that they have developed a wide range of activities for the implementation of their Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SEAP), including the organisation of a local ENGAGE campaign. The rich programme of this festival has allowed residents and tourists not only have fun but also to know more about how to reduce energy consumption. The aim of this festival is to to make people save energy but certainly not at the expense of a reduction of the quality of life and comfort at home. In the same way as last year’s edition, climate ambassadors - public officials, schools, large and small companies, libraries, the media, artists and local inhabitants - were involved in the festival. Their energy-related pledges were displayed in a 300-poster exhibition. Among the various orginal activities organised:
