Singing for the ENGAGE Campaign in Pamplona8 July 2011 | 17h29 | 189 visits The Choral Society of Pamplona actively shows its involvement in the ENGAGE Campaign! As part of its commitment to the Covenant of Mayors, the city of Pamplona (Spain) has pledged to reduce its CO2 emissions by 20% by 2020, with a first cut of 40 000 tonnes already foreseen by 2015. As such an ambitious objective cannot be undertaken by the city officials alone, the involvement of citizens and local stakeholders is of paramount importance. In light of this challenge, on June 4th 2011, the eve of the World Environment Day, the city organised an event part of its local ENGAGE Campaign. Members of the Choral Society of Pamplona gathered on the City Hall Square and together formed a musical note. The Choral Society commits to favour digital letters and to save paper. The City of Pamplona produced a video for this unusual and original event. Pamplona is one of the twelve European pioneer cities participating in the ENGAGE project. ENGAGE is a pan-European communications initiative that aims to involve citizens and stakeholders to play their part in building a sustainable energy future at the local level. Posters are the core communications channel used to raise awareness of the campaign and to locally share the Covenant of Mayors objectives.
