The President of the Republic of Croatia supports the ENGAGE campaign in Ivanic-Grad27 October 2011 | 08h38 | 460 visits The ENGAGE day in Ivanic-Grad was celebrated on the 16th of October as part of the popular Pumpkin Festival. The President of the Republic of Croatia Ivo Josipovic opened the event. As always the attractive pumpkin stand was eye catching with everyone wanting to know more about the ENGAGE campaign. The ENGAGE day in Ivanić-Grad was a real success with thousands of people appreciating the numerous activities, among which the "Think Green for a Better Tomorrow" exhibition in eight different locations in the city. Model airplane builders made two ENGAGE models and organised a flying show. The Head of the Department of City Development Vlatka Berlan Vlahek presented the ENGAGE campaign to the President Ivo Josipović. Ivanić-Grad is the Croatian ENGAGE pioneer city in Europe. Despite being the smallest pioneer city it has the the third highest number of engagements including that of the Mayor Boris Kovačić and his deputies, twenty employees of the city administration, over 40 local associations and 150 citizens. The Mayor Boris Kovačić and Vlatka Berlan Vlahek delivered a speech on the "Think Green for a Better Tomorrow" exhibition composed of some of the 200 posters already produced by the City of Ivanic-Grad. About 8,000 people visited Ivanić-Grad in two days, including politicians, celebrities and exhibitors, and all these events lead to 50 new engagments.
